Amsterdam, 10.04.2025 – As part of its ongoing growth across Europe, nLighten, a leading digital infrastructure platform and a frontrunner in the European edge data center market announces the appointment of Justin Nesbitt as Managing Director of nLighten UK. The appointment follows the planned departure of John Hall, current Managing Director and one of the original co-founders of Proximity Data Centres, who will step down by end of April.
Justin joined nLighten in October 2023 as UK Sales Director, following the acquisition of Proximity Data Centres by nLighten. Since then, he has been instrumental in driving new business, strengthening strategic partnerships, and solidifying nLighten’s position as a leader in edge data centre solutions. His appointment reflects both his exceptional leadership capabilities and his extensive industry expertise.
With over 25 years of experience in the data centre and connectivity sectors, Justin brings a wealth of knowledge and a proven track record of success. Before joining nLighten, he held senior sales positions at Equinix, where he contributed to significant growth and cultivated strong relationships with key stakeholders across the industry.
“We are excited to appoint Justin as Managing Director for the UK,” said Harro Beusker, CEO and Founder of nLighten. “He brings the right mix of experience, leadership, and market insight to lead our UK business through the next phase of growth. I would also like to extend our sincere thanks to John Hall for his outstanding work and commitment in integrating and growing our business within the UK. His contribution has laid a strong foundation for our future.”
Commenting on his new role, Justin Nesbitt stated: “I am honoured to take on this new role at such an exciting time for nLighten. Demand for regional edge data centres is growing rapidly, and we’re well-positioned to meet this need by bringing world-class infrastructure closer to our customers. I look forward to working with our talented team to further expand our footprint and deliver innovative, sustainable solutions to our clients.”
Founded in 2021 nLighten has grown rapidly to 34 data centers and has well over 1,000 customers and approximately 250 team members. The appointment of Justin Nesbitt underscores nLighten’s continued investment in its UK operations and its commitment to providing scalable, high-performance, and sustainable edge data centre solutions across Europe. Justin’s leadership will be pivotal as the company enters its next phase of growth.
